I think everybody's done watching Spiderman. It's worth watching in the cinema I'd say. Contrary to what everyone's saying, I don't think Spiderman and Green Goblin aka Harry Osborn teaming up is a good idea, maybe it's because of the influence of the cartoon I've been watching for a couple of years when I was small. Sandman and Venom teaming up is a bad plot, reminds me of Batman where the villains always team up no matter what. Plus, Spiderman and Sandman forgiving each other in the end, just reminds me of educational TV programs. Other than that, everything else was pretty good.
Neat parts include the dialogues where they show dramatic irony (Example Peter Parker tells Eddie Brock he should go seek religion if he wants forgiveness and it later shows Peter Parker trying to take off the Venom suit in a church) or foreshadowing (Example when Harry Osborn was in the hospital, he tells the nurse that he'd give up his life for Peter and Mary Jane). Another cool thing would be the movie based on a comic has such complex themes. It shows the internal battle within the hero as well, instead of just the ones with the villains. The movie shows that there are 2 sides to people, even Spiderman has a bad side. The villains aren't exactly bad people. Harry's ruthless and does whatever it takes, but he's just overcome by vengeance, he's a nice guy after he got amnesia. Sandman appears to be cruel and cold-blooded, but he's a sensitive father who wants money to cure his daughter. Eddie Brock aka Venom is more of a 2D character (maybe superficial?) and inhuman, best I can say is he's a guy who wants to be accepted by people. I'm not a bad person. -Sandman to his family Sigh... If only I could do the same for my major English project (Frankenstein, Jekyll and Hyde, on the topic of the duality of man). Next up: Pirates of the Carribean. |
